This new 167m high-rise development in Auckland’s CBD is to be located near Albert St, Wolfe Street, Federal Street and the existing West Plaza building. 1-15 Albert Street will create an active retail podium with a new urban laneway, along with substantial vertical commercial footprint in the CBD.

Ignite, along with Cox Architects and BECA, have taken an integrated architect & engineering approach to optimize efficiencies throughout the hotel, retail, and office floorplates.
The design team have taken a sensitive approach to the history and cultural significance of the site, which includes careful design of the podium and street level facade as it incorporates two historically significant buildings, the ‘historic heritage’ Yates Building and the ‘special character’ Berry & Hopkins building.
Historic refurbishment combined with newly designed spaces has enabled a mix of retail and commercial tenancies, which is further activated by a through-site link with access from Federal St and egress onto Albert St.
Careful planning and configuration has been required to accommodate the variety of facilities and amenities within the precinct. This includes a 4-star hotel (280 rooms), 60 residential two and three-bed units, 10,000sqm of office space, a gymnasium, retail, cafés, bars, basement car parking and substantial end-of-trip facilities.
