I believe empathetic design, that focuses on the needs of the user, is crucial to a successful project. I have developed a real interest in user-centric design and how it can be applied to physical environments. It’s about placing the user at the centre of your design process, empathising with them, and applying contextual and observational research to deliver a greater, more memorable experience.
With over 15 years’ local and international experience, my career has always involved working with major brands. I understand the implicitly how to tell a brand’s story and how to translate it into a highly engaging design which achieves commercial objectives.
I’ve always loved being around water and making things. I started surfing at a young age and taught myself to build a surfboard and various furniture items. I am largely inspired by people who work across the broad spectrum of design, from typography to architecture.
