I believe that architecture is the symbiosis of art and engineering. Great architecture must consider every part and system within itself to ensure a positive outcomes for the client and end users. My design approach is that logic should drive all design decisions; if a decision cannot be simplified back to first principle logic, then it could be simplified.
With professional experience across New Zealand and the UK, my work demonstrates a passion for good design with simple construction methodologies. When working with project teams I ensure the budget and constructability are maintained, along with the original design intent.
I’m not a fan of being a ‘fan’ of architecture, As a designer, I look to human behavior and life experience for inspiration. In my personal projects, I enjoy the idea that design can facilitate the reuse of existing ‘things’, by discovering another life for items we already have.
